Wadsworth Birther & Family Care
Hello, I'm Taylor!
My name is Taylor Wadsworth and I am an alum. of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I earned a B.A. in Communication with a minor in Information Technology. In 2009, I graduated from McCann Technical School, a vocational trade school in North Adams, MA where I also studied Information Technology. In 2017, after the birth of my son the previous year, I trained as a postpartum doula with Warm Welcome Birth.
Engaging with families as a postpartum doula brings me a great joy and fulfillment in my life, as well as a confidence in parenting that I continue to gain from learning from my own clients. It can be a rewarding and reciprocal relationship.
Currently, I have a 8 year old kiddo and 2 cats at our home in Amherst. I love coffee, journaling, coloring, yummy treats, and participating in mindfulness activities.
Trained by Warm Welcome Birth, I offer birth and postpartum doula support.
Why I Became a Doula...
In the spring of 2017, I was in the middle of my parental leave with my newborn, realizing how unprepared I felt for this stage of parenthood.
I had read all the books and watched the videos about TTC and pregnancy, researched hospital birth vs. home birth, and even taken a movement for birth class.
But what I wasn't prepared for was feeding and changing a newborn every two(!) hours, having to change my food intake based on their dietary restrictions, or how isolating it can feel to be just you and your new baby - no matter how much you love and adore them!
So what did I do?
